The aptly named Plush caused a buzz within the Tucson Underground when it opened, exceeding expectations for a new venue. It has continued to draw strong attendance for the best in local and national acts. Opulent color, sofa clusters and 1960s casbah details create a pervasive sense of warmth. The main stage is irresistible with its starry backdrop; the front room provides an intimate setting for quieter nights. Maybelle and crew have given the serious music scene a worthy outpost on Fourth Avenue.

Club denizens 411:

Cover is usually around $4. Getting there early guarantees a great seat in the main room. Band hangout is stage right. Kini is tending bar in both the front and main rooms, and you'll see other people you know. Plush is a refuge from the college-kid Fourth Avenue scene, and we haven't seen any nonsense there.

DRINKS AND MUSIC

Full bars in main and front rooms. Generally speaking, Plush books worthy bands from Lovemound to the Zsa Zsas to Bob Log III, and is host to touring artists such as Daniel Lanois.

UNIQUE FEATURES

Check out the Rat Pack-era lamps and sofas in the front room. A billiards room separates the two bar areas; an electronic fireplace of sorts with two facing armchairs (on your right as you enter the billiards room) is a favored private spot.
