Although friends threaten to sell their Gen X-model looks to a socially irresponsible clothing line, chic Heather and tastefully hip soulmate Karl (aka electronica producer Metrognome) are refreshingly free of pretension. Chatting with Heather at a recent live electronica event, I couldn't help but notice her observant authenticity. She's delicate in apperance and substantial in heart; sometimes a flicker across her face makes you think she's on speaking terms with less-than easy experiences. Quick to smile, welcoming by nature, Heather makes me think that the kids are, indeed, all right.
