Take two musicians who share a sense of humor most people can't appreciate without mind-altering substances. Add an ability to craft weird but catchy songs (like the metaphorical implications of the donut). Hail the Croutons. Morgan inveighs while Vic gets all rubbery on lead guitar. We love them. Vic hides while Morgan speaks.

NAME:

"Morgan Montgomery Schlaline."

TYPE:

"I assume this means the type of music The Croutons play. We play a bunch of goofball rock tunes. Mostly true stories. We try to be fun and interesting, but usually fall short. Maybe this meant blood type. AB positive."

QUOTE:

To quote the great Michael Jackson, "The kid is not my son!"

BAND:

"The Croutons."

OTHER CO-CONSPIRATORS:

"Mr. Vic Newman."

LIFE STORY IN BRIEF:

"I was born in York, PA in 1970. At age four, we moved to Fresno where I spent most of life. After high school, I studied music at Fresno City College and got a job at the IRS service center. In '95 I moved to Tucson for a girl. A year later I moved to Orange County, CA for a couple of years, and did some stupid computer jobs. I moved back to Tucson in 1998.I've played drums for (the now legendary) Fez (1999-2001 RIP), Trailer Park and the Wheels in 2001 and Backpedal (formerly CrossCutSaw). In mid-2001 Vic and I founded The Croutons. We've been playing out ever since."

BORN IN:

"York, PA (home of the York)."

HOW LONG IN TUCSON:

"Total: Just over 5 years."

ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE TUCSON:

"Caliente!"

WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN ON THE LOCAL SCENE:

"I'd just love to see more people come out and see how great the local bands are. Club Crawl and the Street Fair are the only things that get people out."

CONNECTING POINTS:

"Shoulders, Elbows, Wrists, Hips, Knees and Ankles.."
